My thoughts on the Gluten-Free DIET

Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name is Jon, and i like to write. I may not be grammatically correct at times, but I'm not the type of writer who has to use these big huge words to make myself sound smarter. "The preoccupied cumbersomeness nature of this work of cinema perplexes even the simplest of emotions". You'll never get that out of me, I'll simply say, "Man, that sucked" then explain why.

What's been on my mind lately. Well, dieting. I understand there is a difference in "lifestyle change" and dieting, but what is that difference? A lifestyle change is just that, you make changes in your lifestyle in order to obtain a goal you've set. A diet, is purposely omitting something in order to lose weight. The big one for me that people talk about is Gluten. I've seen people say "i lost x amount of weight without dieting" (If i may borrow a line from Wade Barrett) "Well I'm afraid I've got some Bad News". By leaving Gluten out you are conforming to a diet. The Oxford dictionary defines diet as "A special course of food to which one restricts oneself, either to lose weight or for medical reasons:".

Why am i so anti Gluten-Free? Here's the thing, I'm not, If you have Celiac and have a legit problem processing Gluten, then absolutely cut it out. If you do not have Celiac i don't think you need to cut it out 100%. "You can't lose weight unless you cut Gluten out", right, tell me that 4 years ago when i dropped over 80 pounds by NOT restricting my Gluten intake. News flash, you ARE NOT losing weight because you are cutting out gluten, you are losing weight because you are cutting out the processed junk you once were eating. I'm obviously not a Dr. however i think things like this are a case by case basis.

If the Gluten-Free thing you're doing is working for you, then absolutely keep doing it. I know it sounds like I'm passing judgement on those who do this but I'm not. This article is not written for the purpose of bashing any diet, look I've tried them all. Many friends of mine partake in the Gluten-Free "non diet"......... lol. There are so many books, and websites, and blogs (like this one) that will tell you one things vs the other, and which one do you believe? You have to decide for yourself, all i ask is for you to ask some general common sense questions.

Gluten-Free: "Do i have Celiac" "Am i losing weight because of going Gluten Free, or is it because I'm not eating processed food and refined sugars"

If you have any questions or comments feel free to leave comments. I'm sure i will be gaining a lot of criticism for this, but lets not get ugly, and lets have a good clean debate.
